How to Enjoy Malaysian Food Street

Singapore and Malaysia share several food dishes, but they are often prepared differently with a local twist. Have you ever wanted to try some authentic Malaysian food in Singapore?

Singapore and Malaysia share several food dishes, but they are often prepared differently with a local twist. Singaporean foodies are able to tell if the hawker who prepared the dish practised in Malaysia or Singapore just by tasting it. Have you ever wanted to try some Malaysian food, but have no idea where to go or what to eat? Look no further, as the Malaysian Food Street in Resorts World Sentosa is just the place for you!

History

Malaysian Food Street was opened on 12 January 2012 by Resorts World Sentosa with the ambition of delivering authentic Malaysian street food to its visitors. To achieve this goal, renowned Malaysian hawkers are invited to set up stalls here. Till date, most of the original tenants, such as Heun Kee Claypot Rice , are still preparing their specialties for hungry customers on a daily basis.

Malacca’s Chicken Rice Ball(#01-10) & Klang Bak Kut The(#01-17)

Up to 516 visitors can dine at the air-conditioned hawker centre and it is a popular stop for the lunch and dinner crowds in Sentosa to dine in. If you happen to be visiting Sentosa island and need to grab a meal while evading the scorching sun, you should try the Hainanese chicken rice balls sold at the Malacca’s Chicken Rice Ball stall as well as the Hokkien bak kut teh prepared by the Klang Bak Kut Teh stall here.

A lineup of stalls meet your various needs

For patrons with dietary restrictions, fret not, as there are vegetarian dishes available and two Halal-certified stalls here as well! You can also stop by Fung Wong Confectionery to purchase wrapped boxes of traditional snacks that serve as the perfect souvenir to complete your trip to Sentosa.

Visit here...!

Locals rarely drop by for a meal at Malaysian Food Street unless they are also visiting Sentosa island to visit its beaches or the attractions nearby. Seats tend to be filled by tourists and adventurous Singaporeans who are looking for a different culinary experience. If you are unfamiliar with the Malaysian hawker food scene, fret not for most stalls have the information and history of their specialty dishes displayed prominently.

Another unique aspect of this hawker centre is that its interior is carefully furnished and decorated to replicate the ambience of Malaysian streets for its visitors. It definitely makes for an ideal location to snap a few photos too!
